Meet the Artist Event: EAST

East Anglian Stitch Textiles (EAST) was formed in 1995 in response to a demand for a self–supporting framework for textile artists based in East Anglia, UK. Come along to our Meet the Artist event at Babylon Arts, to explore EAST'S latest exhibition Bridging the Gap.

EAST members have spent the previous year pondering the role of women, both past and present. This includes specific examples of women who, despite their gender and their circumstances, have forged a path and a way forward either for themselves or for others to embrace.

Areas of research are diverse but each focuses on either the individual or on trends that have emerged, changed, or are still changing.

Join members of EAST to discover how each one used research, both written and visual, to inform the final exhibit and follow the many twists and turns that the process took.
