About us

Ely Arts Festival aims to provide a fun, creative and diverse programme of cultural events and activities in Ely and the surrounding villages.

It brings together events that are specially developed by the Festival Committee and opportunities that are created by groups, organisations and individuals who want to share their arts and cultural activities and talents with the wider community.

An introduction from our Artistic Director

I'm incredibly excited and proud to be taking over as Chair and Artistic Director of Ely Arts Festival. It's an amazing opportunity to start a new chapter of engaging, exciting and accessible arts activities for Ely and the surrounding villages.

Whilst 2020 has been a challenging year for the arts, I know that there is a vibrant arts scene across East Cambridgeshire which will enable us to create a wonderful festival that features all art forms. We are particularly keen to reach out to families and young children and offer a diverse programme of events for everyone in the community to enjoy. I am extremely grateful for the support of the small committee working to deliver the festival in 2021 and our continued strong relationship with Babylon Arts.

The arts are going to be even more important than ever and I look forward to meeting and working with you all moving forward in the years to come.

Chris Parsons,
Chair & Artistic Director
