Make this a Christmas to remember with a magical screening and live orchestral performance of Raymond Briggs’ classic story The Snowman. A perfect event for all the family! Alongside the iconic animated film, the concert will include fun and festive music; this is truly an event not to be missed!
Since its release in 1982, The Snowman has become a much-loved Christmas classic. Its story of a Snowman who takes a boy on a magical flight to meet Santa Claus, is charming and poignant, and is told without dialogue – through animation and music alone.
The film is based on a children’s book by Raymond Briggs, with the soft and warmly atmospheric animation style derived from the charm of his illustrations. The score for The Snowman was composed by Howard Blake, and during his long career it has become his most famous work, particularly his song for child soprano, Walking In The Air.
Aged 3 and under can attend for free if sitting on a lap.
*Doors will open an hour before each performance for some pre-event Snowman themed activities!
Hot beverages and cakes provided by Cool Beans Coffee Co. will be on sale outside an hour before the performance. Warm yourself up with a pre-show hot drink!
PLEASE NOTE
All seats at the Hayward theatre have a clear vantage point to the screen and the orchestra. Whether you are on the raked seating or the flat, you will have a good view!
