This relaxing and immersive session will teach you how to carve a large serving spoon or spatula while seated on your own safe “spoon mule” – designed so you are always comfortably cutting away from your body.

You’ll learn how to use two different types of spoke shave to create your own handle design and help to carve the outside of your spoon bowl and a curved carving tool to make the bowl of the spoon. Once you understand how to use the tools, you can then let your creativity run wild and enjoy this really mindful, relaxing and quite meditative process.

The session is hands-on, and the student will be able to use their own equipment on the day to create their spoons/spatulas, which they can then take home with them at the end of the session.

Wear comfortable clothing and closed footwear (otherwise you’ll get lots of wood shavings in between your toes ).

Ticket price includes all materials, tutoring and use of the equipment on the day.
