Musicals might seem a safe genre for Sunday afternoon television, but it also has its share of the weird and the wonderful.
Kit Lewis of CULTure Babylon will take you through a brief history of some of the more unusual musicals - from blockbuster successes to forgotten masterpieces.
The talk introduces a screening of the 2001 cult musical Hedwig and the Angry Inch.
Hedwig is born a man on the wrong side of the Berlin Wall and is co-erced into gender surgery to get to the USA. Abandoned in a trailer park in Kansas she begins a journey into music, wigs, true identity and redemption. Funny, moving and brilliant. (Certificate 15.)
