Ely Arts Festival is delighted to present an evening of music inspired by Africa. Featuring 350 local school children singing, a live orchestra, community choirs, dancers and professional soloists it promises to be a wonderful evening of music making!
The concert will feature music from The Lion King, traditional african folk songs and a newly commissioned work The Elephant by Ely Arts Festival composer in residence, David Sims. The concert is conducted by Chris Parsons.
The concert will begin with a colourful parade down the nave with school children wearing Africa themed head-dresses, created in free art workshops provided by the festival and delivered by Lizzie Ault. Free singing workshops in schools are also delivered as part of the project by Chris Parsons. Our thanks to Ely Community Events Team for their generous support in funding this outreach work.
