Fen Speak is Ely's long-running regular poetry, spoken word and storytelling open mic night where local writers come together to share their work in a friendly environment.
As part of Ely Arts Festival, there is a guest slot from Julie Stevens. Julie writes poems that cover many themes, but often engages with the problems of disability. She is widely published in places such as Ink Sweat & Tears, Broken Sleep Books, The Honest Ulsterman, Strix and Indigo Dreams Publishing. She has 4 published pamphlets, most recently Journey Through the Fire (2024).
